You’ve paid for your ethanol plant’s feedstock. Now get its full value… with CPT’s patented and proven corn dry-fractionation technology.

Fractionation is a technique that separates the three main components of the corn kernel -- endosperm, germ and bran -- to get more return from each bushel of corn. Fractionation provides more efficient and economical ethanol production and a way to garner more value from the feedstock the ethanol producer has already paid for.  CPT is the proven gateway technology that allows companies to make higher value products from commodity and specialty corn.

CPT uses a patented dry milling process to separate the kernel’s parts before endosperm, or the fermentable starch, is introduced into the fermenter. And it keeps the non-fermentable germ and bran for new markets and new profits.

CPT Fractionation opens the door to many more markets and opportunities to significantly lower energy costs.

Fractionation means lower production costs for ethanol and higher product value per bushel of corn.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is Fractionation a Proven Technology?

CPT’s Fractionation Technology has been in use continually for more than 30 years at multiple locations. In the ethanol industry, our system has run, until the pandemic hit, since 2007. It is used commercially in edible corn mills, industrial corn mills, ethanol and the National Corn to Ethanol Research Center.

What Makes CPT Different?

CPT’s system is different for many reasons. The proprietary and patented technology is the key, leading to less equipment and a lower capital cost. Even with less equipment, our technology has the best component separation. The critical factor in fractionation is to create the cleanest streams in the most efficient manner. Our patented process is differentiated from other dry milling technologies because of the way we separate the germ and the bran/fiber.

How Can Fractionation Help Me Stay Competitive?

CPT Fractionation opens the door to many more markets and opportunities to significantly lower energy costs. Corn goes in dry and endosperm, germ and fiber all come out dry and storable. Even the endosperm can be used to make alternative products with more value. CPT helps to lower ethanol plant risk by broadening the product offering and diversifying income.

Will Fractionation Reduce My Energy Costs?

Yes. Turn off your hammer mills and don’t process the components that are non-fermentable. By removing the non-fermentable components on the front-end, process efficiencies and savings are realized throughout the plant. As an added benefit, your C.I. score will be improved. There is a reason that the EPA considers front-end fractionation “Advanced Technology.”

How Can I Purchase A System?

Contact CPT for a free quotation. Firm pricing can be obtained through a preliminary engineering study based on the size and current infrastructure of your facility. Most plants were designed with extra space to allow for fractionation to be added at a later date.

Is Management and Marketing Assistance Available?

CPT offers management agreements for the system and sales contracts for the products that are produced. We have the expertise to make sure that your ethanol plant is profitable and strategically positioned within the industry.
