The Value Proposition
Adding Value to Your Feedstock Purchase

Corn is an ethanol plant’s largest operating cost. Fractionation is a technique that separates the three main components of the corn kernel -- endosperm, germ and bran -- to get more return on that expense. Fractionation provides more efficient and economical ethanol production and a way to garner more value from the feedstock the ethanol producer has paid for.

CPT uses a patented dry milling process to separate the kernel’s parts before endo- sperm, or the fermentable starch, is introduced into the fermenter. And it keeps the nonfermentable germ and bran for new markets and new profits.

Corn Kernel Composition

CPT’s corn dry-milling technology is the most efficient in the industry:

  • Built in modules, CPT’s system is sized to your needs and your budget.
  • At half the horsepower, it costs a lot less to operate.
  • The CPT fractionation system can be started or shut down in less than five minutes.
  • Modules can run as little as five bushels to as much as 800 bushels of corn per hour.
  • The CPT system can run at a rate to match the ethanol plant’s production.
  • CPT’s small footprint allows it to easily fit in existing and new ethanol plants.
  • With virtually no thermal requirement, there’s savings in energy costs, too.
  • With fewer solids, ethanol stillage now yields meal with higher protein for higher-end markets.
  • The corn germ and bran fractions now add to profits instead of costs.

Fractionation means lower production costs for ethanol and higher product value per bushel of corn.

The Value Proposition
